“Malik Sandal Institute of Art & Architecture” “MSIAA”
(Named after “Malik Sandal” a 16th Century renowned Architect of the Adilshahi period)
is established in the year 1991 with the permission of the Govt. of Karnataka,
under G.O No. ED-157 UDC 91 dated 23/09/91, affiliated to the VTU
(Visveswaraiah Technological University) Belgaum, Karnataka, Approved by the Council
of Architecture (COA) New Delhi & the AICTE New Delhi.
23 years ago, MSIAA was established as a discipline of architecture and was recognized as a separate and independent college of Architecture by the council of architecture New Delhi.
Past two decades now , the college has consistently excelled to enhance its reputation by having some very distinguished alumni inland and abroad.
Thanks to Vision of Eng. S.A.Punekar ,president of SECAB ASSOCIATION ,a committed educationist who sacrificed life for education and development of the citizens of Bijapur and the other regions of the country at large.
Ar. B. D.Kudalkar was appointed as professor of architecture to lead the department , his successors, Professor , N.B. Shaikh and Dr. Anwar Imaduddin
During 01/12/1996 Dr. Anwar Imaruddin sir joined as a lecturer and in 25/11/2000 became Principal of the Institution and took the institution the college of architecture into a new modernist phase , making an impact on the city and other regions in and around the state and during 17/08/2011 taken incharge as Research Supervisor from VTU with their research acumen and he also involved in setting of of the “ Research Cell” for the institution in the year 2015.
